If you are interested in a career in IT but don’t know where to start, the Cisco Networking Academy IT Essentials provides an introduction to the computer hardware and software skills needed to help meet the demand for entry level IT professionals. IT Essentials provides a comprehensive learning experience to help you develop skills you require to start your career in IT and helps you prepare for the CompTIA A+ certification which will help you differentiate yourself in the job market. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, networking technologies, security and troubleshooting and also provides an introduction to voice and wireless. IT Essentials is a hands on e-learning solution with an emphasis on practical experience to help you develop fundamental IT skills along with other skills such as safety, environmental issues and communication skills. This IT Essentials course provides you with valuable IT skills that you will be able to use wherever your career takes you.

General Information

This course covers the full insulation of various operating systems and the building of a computer system from scratch. It shows students how to troubleshoot using various system tools and diagnostic software. As well as the full package of hands on practical skills, you will also have access to the course curriculum with virtual labs and Packet tracer which is  a powerful network simulation and visualisation software package that is an integral part of your IT Essentials learning experience.

Course Times, Duration and Start Dates

The evening course will run for 10 weeks. Timings will be from 6pm to 9pm every Thursday starting 1st March 2012.

The day time course will run for 8 weeks. Timings will be Wednesdays from 1pm 5pm starting 7 March 2012.
